Ferber Company North, located in New Jersey, was the launchpad for Ferber over a century ago. Paul L. Ferber believed in forging meaningful relationships in business and that principle has been passed down through the generations.

In the early 90s’, Ferber North leaders developed and obtained a relationship with an owner who operated a family-owned appliance store in the area where they expressed interest in for future development.

Family members decided to sell with the land lease after the matriarch passed away and Ferber was their first choice to broker the deal. The company began with a lease with option to buy once the family was ready to part with the existing business.

In 2010, nearly two decades later, Ferber acquired the acreage in this highly valued commercial location along the Brunswick Turnpike. With Wawa in the works as the anchor tenant, a team of highly skilled engineers developed the complex site that needed additional interchanges, bypasses, and intersections to gain approval and move forward.

Because this was one of the first commercial areas in Trenton, a unique layout of the site required solutions for creating new traffic patterns. After Wawa anchored the site, Ferber built out multi-tenant parcels for McDonald’s, Sherwin Williams, Verizon and others.

“This was a major development in Trenton and the first of its kind,” said the Executive Vice of Developmental Services President David Klipstein. “The success of this project brought the Ferber name to the forefront in real estate development and has led the way for our company to develop dozens of Wawa locations.”
